Listed in Sourlands Meetings for the congregation of the Milston, May 27,
1729 was Abraham Sloover, Deacon. July 24, 1732, he was on a list of debtors
to the estate of Benjamin Burt. "Abraham Slown" was a settler of West Jersey
with 50 acres, 1735. The Account Book of Janeway and Broughton on Somerset
and Hunterdon Cos. as recorded in the Genealogy Magazine of NJ lists Abraham
Slover from May 1736 to Aug. 1737. This store was believed by some to have
been at Middlebrook; by others ar Burnt Mills on north branch of the Raritan
river or what is now Bound Brook. The partners were John Broughton and Jacob
Janeway.

*Abraham died before 1749, as his widow, Sophia Slover, of Hunterdon Co.
married Sept. 26, 1749, William Allen of Somerset Co., NJ. Sophia was living
in 1761, when her husband, William Allen died in May or June 1761,
Bedminster, Somerset Co. naming his wife, Sufiah and 8 children in his will;
Robert Allen of Somerset Co., N; Joseph Allen, St. Mary, Jamaica, British
West Indies; William Allen (if he returns alive from the sea); James Allen,
Somerset Co.; Margott O'Harrow; Rachel Allen; Hannah Allen. It is believed
that William and Sophia had a daughter, Elizabeth Allen born between 1750 and
1755.

*Another sources says that this Sophia Slover was the daughter of Abraham and
Sophia
